Moon-Matz Ltd. was responsible for all Electrical Engineering services for the construction of a new Youth Centre. Engineering services included preliminary and detail design, drawings, and specification preparation, contract administration, and site review.
The innovative complex is situated on a 90 acre site and has a total floor area greater than 18,600 sq. m. (200,000 sq. ft.) The complex consists of 10 buildings including 6 cottages buildings 192 beds total), an Administration building comprised of healthcare, visitation, time out and recreation facilities, a Multi-Faith building, a Food and Services building, and an Education and Activities building. Electrical systems included site servicing, site lighting, power distribution, fire alarm and life safety. The facility is designed to meet the Canada Green Building Council’s (CaGBC) Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) “Silver” Certification Standards.
